FAQ

Common questions.

What teams ask about the Clarity Audit, the engagement model, and the four GTM pillars: Be Found, Be Understood, Be First, and Be Chosen.

What is the Clarity Audit?
The Clarity Audit is above below's two-week diagnostic and the starting point for every engagement. It maps your brand, content, and marketing systems against the four GTM pillars (Be Found, Be Understood, Be First, Be Chosen) and returns a scored readout with a prioritized roadmap of the work worth doing first.
Why does every engagement start with the Clarity Audit?
It keeps the work honest. Instead of prescribing a pillar before we understand the business, the audit shows where AI belongs in your marketing, where manual creative is the right investment, and which gaps cost you the most. The roadmap you get is based on evidence, not a sales pitch.
What do we receive at the end of the audit?
A scored readout across all four pillars, the specific findings behind each score, and a sequenced recommendation: which pillar to address first, what the engagement looks like, and what outcomes to expect. It is yours to keep whether or not we work together.
What happens after the Clarity Audit?
We build a custom engagement from the audit findings, sized to the pillar and your team's readiness. From there we implement the systems with your team and establish the governance to keep them improving after handoff.
How long is a typical engagement?
The Clarity Audit runs two weeks. Follow-on pillar engagements typically run 6 to 16 weeks depending on scope: a focused single-pillar build closes at the shorter end, a multi-pillar operating build at the longer end. We size to the findings, not a fixed menu.
Who staffs the engagement?
Every engagement is assembled from a bench of senior specialists: brand strategists, solutions architects, engineers, operations strategists, and enterprise sales strategists. We bring the roles the work demands, so strategy is owned by the people best equipped to deliver it.
Do you replace or extend our marketing team?
We extend it. Every artifact, dashboard, and template is owned by your team on day one. Our job is to install the operating system, then hand it off with the playbook to keep it running.
What happens after implementation?
Governance is built into every engagement: a working session cadence plus async review of the systems in production. It's how we keep the systems improving without becoming a dependency.
What is Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)?
Answer Engine Optimization is the practice of making a brand's content the source that large language models (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Claude, Gemini) cite when answering a user's question. Where SEO optimized for ten blue links, AEO optimizes to be the single synthesized answer.
How is AEO different from SEO?
SEO earns clicks by ranking on a results page. AEO earns citations by being the source a model quotes. The tactics overlap (clean information architecture, entity signals, structured data), but the outcome is different: AI search returns one authoritative answer rather than ten options.
How do you measure AI visibility?
We track prompt coverage (how often your brand appears for target prompts across the major answer engines), citation share versus competitors, and downstream traffic and revenue attributable to AI referrals.
How long does an AEO engagement take to show results?
Initial visibility lifts typically appear within 30 to 60 days of shipping the AEO content and schema layer. Compound gains in citation share and category authority build over 90 to 180 days as models re-index.
What does the Be Understood pillar cover?
Differentiation and brand systems. We sharpen the point of view only your brand can own, then build the message architecture, identity, and content systems that express it consistently across every touchpoint: site, sales narrative, product, and campaigns.
How do you differentiate a brand when everyone uses the same AI tools?
Differentiation is a function of point of view, not production. AI has commoditized volume; it has raised the value of a distinct perspective. We work with leadership to sharpen the point of view, then rebuild the message architecture around it.
Do you write copy, or just strategy?
Both. Engagements ship strategic frameworks alongside the flagship content that proves them, and hand your team the templates to continue.
What does Be First mean?
In the age of AI, the brands that win are first to market with the offer, product, or feature. Speed to market is king. Be First builds the automated content and launch systems that compress the time from decision to market, with cost savings on production as the compounding benefit.
What kinds of content should we automate?
Repeatable, templated, high-volume content: programmatic landing pages, category and comparison pages, product update posts, customer stories in a fixed format, localized variants. If a brief for it looks the same every time, it belongs in a pipeline.
Where does manual creative remain the right investment?
Point of view, category-defining thought leadership, executive narrative, and anything a customer reads as a signal of brand judgment. Automation carries the repeatable base so your best people spend their time on the work only humans can do.
What is decision enablement?
The discipline of earning trust at the moment a choice is made. We build the messaging system that answers the real questions of whoever decides: the executive who signs off, the committee comparing options, or the customer with veto power.
How does this build trust with buyers?
Trust comes from precision and proof. We build a narrative spine, a persona-specific proof matrix, an objection library, and decision-stage assets mapped to the exact motion your team or channel is running, so every interaction reinforces why you are the safe choice.
Do you replace our enablement team?
No. We build the messaging strategy and the initial asset system, then transition ownership to your team with the playbook to keep it current. We install the operating system, not the help desk.
