What we collect
No advertising, and nothing sold. The site carries no advertising pixels, and nothing here follows you to another website or feeds an ad network. It does measure how this site itself is used, which is described below. Like any hosted website, Cloudflare receives routine request information needed to deliver and protect each page, including an IP address and browser data.
Site analytics
We measure how this site is used. The analytics records which pages you opened, the site or campaign link that brought you here, the country the request came from, your IP address, and your browser, operating system, and device type. It also records that you started or submitted a form, and that you downloaded a file.
It does not record what you type. Form fields are never read, so the words you write in an enquiry reach us only when you send it.
To recognize a return visit as the same browser, the analytics stores an identifier in a cookie on your device. That identifier is not your name, and we do not connect it to an enquiry you send us. It does mean your activity is grouped across visits rather than counted only in aggregate.
Clearing your cookies removes the identifier, and you start again as a new visitor. A tracker-blocking extension or browser stops the measurement entirely.
Two things ask for information, and both require you to submit them.
The contact form
When you send an enquiry we receive your name, work email, company, role, the starting point you selected, and what you wrote. We also receive the IP address the request came from.
That goes to one mailbox at above below. It is not added to a marketing list, sold, or shared for cross-context behavioral advertising. The service providers named below process it only to operate the site and deliver the enquiry.
The assessments
The four assessments score in your browser. Your answers stay on your device unless you choose to send them.
If you use “Send me a read on this”, we receive your name, company, email, the questions, your answers, and the resulting score. We also record your browser’s user agent string, the country your request came from, and the page that referred you.

How long we keep it
Enquiries and assessment submissions are kept only while they are needed to respond, maintain appropriate business records, resolve a dispute, or meet a legal obligation. When none of those reasons applies, the record is deleted or de-identified. A verified deletion request can shorten that period unless the law requires the record to be retained.
Your choices
Write to hello@abovebelow.com and ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will respond to a verified request and explain any legal exception that applies.
To stop the analytics, clear this site’s cookies to remove the identifier, or use a browser or extension that blocks trackers. Either takes effect at once, and neither changes anything else on the site.
Depending on where you live and whether the relevant law applies to above below, you may have additional privacy rights, including rights under the GDPR or California law.
Cookies
One, set by the analytics described above. It holds the identifier that recognizes a return visit, and it carries no advertising or profiling function beyond that measurement. Cloudflare may also set a security cookie to distinguish visitors from automated traffic. The site sets no others.
